Mission Statement

Hello, my name is Alex Welch and I am currently in the process of completing my Bachelor’s of Interdisciplinary Studies degree in the concentration areas of History and Sociology with a minor in the area of geography at Arizona State University. After graduating in December of 2007 I would like to begin a career in either the field of history or sports. I am positive that I have an unmatched wealth of knowledge in both of these fields and can not wait to display my abilities. I feel I have much to offer to any potential employer or organization that gives me the chance and will shine like the bright Arizona sun.

On a personal level, I enjoy spending time with my family, watching and playing sports, and researching whatever topic of history I can get my hands on. My favorite topic of history is unquestionably the Civil War because to me it was the most important war in America’s history for a multitude of reasons. I also enjoy researching the Dark Ages, mainly the Crusades, which I find fascinating and eerily similar on many levels to the present state of affairs in our world today. When I am not enveloped in the newest book on Abraham Lincoln or Robert E. Lee, I am spending time with my fiance Blanca, playing golf with my brother Blake, or watching football with my friends.
